Style Week Pittsburgh was created in 2013 by Wadria Taylor, after she recognized the need for a platform to showcase the many cool boutiques, venues, and talent in Pittsburgh. After relocating to Pittsburgh, she knew the city had a lot to offer, but needed more outlets to highlight the city’s talent. In addition, the event planner and founder of the marketing company, Style & Steel, also wanted an event that brought entrepreneurs together to showcase their work, network and collaboration.
What began as an idea has now grown into a citywide, multi-day event that showcases and promotes fashion, art, music, and entrepreneurship within an atmosphere that is inclusive, collaborative, and engaging. Each event provides the opportunity for attendees to highlight their own work while engaging with new people and expanding their networks.
Style Week Pittsburgh has seen thousands of attendees over the past four years and is looking forward to growing those numbers in this, the 5th year, which kicks off August 17-20. With the 2017 theme of “Style meets Innovation”, Style Week Pittsburgh is connecting with an even larger group of entrepreneurs, artists, and innovators. Events will include: a designer fashion show, the Style Awards (which recognizes individuals in varying fields), a networking brunch, and a maker marketplace. Over the 4 days, Style Week Pittsburgh will highlight a diverse group of artists and entrepreneurs doing great things in Pittsburgh.
