Dee Dee Malloy

RAW Pittsburgh Presents: Encompass 10-10-2013 Pittsburgh, PA Photos by: David Kelly

My name is Dee Dee. I am a licensed makeup artist and esthetician with continuing training and education with experience in all aspects of media makeup: fashion, video and print. I am dependable, detail-oriented, and multi-faceted professional who looks to add to the success of the creative team of any project. Originally from Las Vegas I bring a sense of that show girl retro style to my work and have a diverse background and experience that creates a unique style. I believe the number one thing you can have in life is passion. Passion is such a powerful emotion that you must possess. I believe to be able to have this insatiable feeling you must breath, sleep, and live it. It’s something that is rooted in your heart and thoughts. . . It knows no boundaries. One of my passions is art. Being a makeup artist allows me to express my art through “painting” people..

Kourtney Leech

Everyone is different and I love the way a little (or a lot) of makeup can completely change the way someone feels about themself. I never know who might end up in my chair but I do know that anyone who I get the chance of meeting and doing their makeup, is beautiful and special in their own way and it’s my job to get to know that about them and make sure they, without a doubt, feel beautiful and special by the time they leave my chair.” Kourtney works as the first makeup artist at one of Pittsburgh’s biggest salons, Geno Levi Hair Salon and Pro Dry Blow-dry Studio in McMurray, PA. She also has worked several charitable events held in Pittsburgh where she would work with and meet, Dr. Shellie Hipsky and the Global Sisterhood, members of Woman Entrepreneurs of Pittsburgh, Miss Pennsylvania 2014-15, Miss Reining America 2015-16, Mrs. Alleghany County 2016, Mrs. Washington County 2016, Athena Sarris, Juan Carlos Silva and many more talented models and photographers. You might also find her teaching a makeup class at South Hills Beauty Academy or other makeup classes with the cosmetic line she works for, Motives Cosmetics. Later this year, Kourtney will be opening her own studio in Canonsburg, PA where she resides so she can host her group classes, makeup events, trainings with beginner artists, bridal parties and every day consoltation appointments.

Her gold sequin gown from a 1988 wedding was destined to remain in the closet until she decided if she couldn’t wear it ANYWHERE, she’d wear it EVERYWHERE and take the pictures to prove it. Photo ops have included wearing it for driver’s license and passport photos, voting, scuba diving, Pittsburgh Steelers locker room locally and outside of the city including on a camel in Morocco, under the Eiffel Tower and at Machu Picchu in Peru. As the director of Pittsburgh’s Cancer Caring Center (www.cancercaring.org) she created a Bridesmaid fundraiser for 4 years with all proceeds benefiting the Center and she donated a portion of her book proceeds from “Always a Bridesmaid – 89 Ways to Recycle That Gown”.
